Old Fort schools superintendent Jude Meyers introduced new grades 7-12 principal/administrator Shane Jacoby at their school board meeting Monday night. The board approved the appointment unanimously with a two-year limited contract pending completion of all requirements. Meyers said Jacoby was chosen from many candidates.

Jacoby comes to Old Fort from Lakota local schools, where he served as an assistant principal and taught health and physical education. He serves as an assistant coach for football and track at Columbian High School. His wife, Jodi, accompanied him to the board meeting and they have a son, Jack, a senior at Columbian, and two grown sons, Kyle and Wes. Jacoby said he "is excited about the opportunity to be at a quality school."

In his report, Meyers said the parking lot has been restriped, and he is working hard to get the facilities in good order. He said the gym will be redone from roof damage, and the landscaping and the commons improvements paid for by donations along with outbuildings being painted stands as a clear message to the community that "we will take care of their

property."

During the treasurer's report, it was announced the Old Fort Schools Renovation Committee donated $555.95 for the purchase of 10 iPad screen protectors and stands, complementing iPads previously donated.

Supplemental contracts for the next school year were approved for Danielle Merritt, varsity assistant/freshman volleyball coach; Samantha Gosche, junior varsity volleyball coach; Julia Kagy, 7th grade volleyball coach; Sam Dunn, junior varsity boys basketball coach; John (Matt) Rader, athletic director; Sandra Adelsperger, LPDC teacher; and Niki Elchert, 8th grade volleyball coach.

Resignations included John Rader as the junior varsity boys basketball coach, and science teacher Jennifer Shuck, who has left for Mohawk local schools.

Extended days of employment were added to current days for guidance counselor Heather Stockmaster, 8 days; 7-12 administrator Shane Jacoby, 5 days; and John Rader, athletic director, 5 days, with board member Gary Cole as the lone dissenting vote.

The board also approved a "Support Staff Fringe Benefits Schedule and Leave Privileges"

policy.
