UPPER SANDUSKY - Barbershop harmony is to return to Star Theatre in Upper Sandusky at 7 p.m. Saturday when the community theater hosts its fourth annual Evening of Barbershop. The concert is to raise funds for the theater's scholarship fund.
This year's lineup of quartets includes Maverick, The Hot Air Buffoons and The Allies. All three quartets competed last month in the annual Barbershop Harmony Society's International Competition.
The Hot Air Buffoons are to appear on the Star stage for the first time.
The quartet originated in 1996. They took home gold medals and a first-place trophy in the 2001 Buckeye Invitational Comedy Quartet Competition in Columbus. They also are the 2005 Johnny Appleseed District Champions.
In international competition, the Buffoons have been ranked in the Top 50 quartets in the world for eight consecutive years.
The concert is to feature each quartet individually and conclude with a combined number.
Refreshments are to be provided by Special Occasions Catering.
