Doll, teddy bear show Sunday

The annual Sandusky River Valley Doll Club Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale is set for Sunday at Seneca County Opportunity Center, 780 E. CR 20.

Doors open at 10 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. A variety of bears, dolls, supplies and accessories are to be for sale.

Fashion dolls through the years are to be on display, and the public can vote for its favorite items. Two dolls are to be raffled, and door prizes are to be awarded every 30 minutes.

Admission is $2, which includes one doll appraisal. Additional appraisals are $2 each. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.

'Sundae Cruise' benefit slated

Seneca County Museum is to benefit from a "Sundae Cruise Day" noon-3 p.m. Sunday at Amvets Post 48, 1909 S. SR 100.

Owners of classic cars and motorcycles can register 11 a.m.-noon at a cost of $10. Show entrants can win door prizes. The Country DJ is to provide recorded music.

The main edible attraction is a sundae bar with soft-serve ice cream and toppings. The sundae bar is $2. Also available are sandwiches and chips and frozen adult beverages.

A 50/50 drawing is planned, and a "31" cooler bag filled with goodies is to be raffled. Tickets are six for $5.

Barbershop concert coming

FOSTORIA - Lake Plains Barbershop Chorus is to perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday for the Fostoria Community Arts Council Summer Concert Series final concert of the season at Wainwright Amphitheatre.

This free concert is co-sponsored by the Fostoria Parks and Recreation Department. The rain location is Wesley United Methodist Church.

Studio books open house

BELLEVUE - Bellevue Society for the Arts is having an open house at its music studio 2-4 p.m. Sunday. This is an opportunity to see the remodeled lobby and to meet instructors.

New this year are Laura Horn and Karen Westgate. They join Cindy Mira, Cathy Belfoire, Ryan Neal, Tamara Kagy and Jimy Foreman.

Aspiring actors, take note

"The Diary of Anne Frank" is the next production for The Ritz Players, with performances Oct. 12, 13, 20 and 21. Auditions are planned 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday in the main theater.

Cast requirements include two girls, ages 11-18; three women, late 20s-early 60s; one boy, 14-18; and four men, late 30s-60s.

This drama is part of the Discovery Series, which includes a 10 a.m. performance Oct. 12.

BUCYRUS - A cast is needed for "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," the first production of the Bucyrus Little Theatre's 2012-13 season. Four adult men and two adult women are needed.

Auditions are slated for 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the theater, 130 Songer Ave., Bucyrus. Performance dates are Oct. 12-14 and 19-21.

FINDLAY - The Arts Partnership of Greater Hancock County has scheduled auditions for Youtheatre's fall production of "Once on this Island Jr."

Youth in grades 6-12 can try out for the musical at 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., Findlay.

Interviews for youth interested in serving on the technical crew will be on the same dates, times and place.

BELLEVUE - Bellevue Society for the Arts is to conduct open auditions for a dramedy, "The Lion in Winter" by James Goldman, at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at 205 Maple St., Bellevue.

Available roles include: Henry II, king of England; Queen Eleanor; John, the youngest son of Henry and Eleanor; Geoffrey, another son of Henry and Eleanor; Richard the Lionheart; Alais Capet, a love interest for John; and Philip II, king of France.

Those attending auditions will be asked to read from the script. Production dates are Oct. 12, 13, 19 and 20.

Offspring takes film role

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 4, is making her movie debut alongside her famous mom.

Walt Disney Studios stated Wednesday that Angelina Jolie's youngest daughter is to play a "minor role" in "Maleficent," in which Jolie plays the title character. Vivienne is set to play a young Princess Aurora, who grows up to be evil Maleficent's target in the live-action "Sleeping Beauty" tale.

Production on the film began in London in June. "Maleficent" is set to hit theaters in March of 2014.

There has been no word on whether Vivienne's twin brother, Knox, is working on a movie career as well.
