GOLF: Madelyn Smith and Tammy Seasly owned the Thursday Ladies Clark Construction League at Clinton Heights. In the second half final, Smith was the winner with 43 points and Tammy Seasly was runner-up with 41. Smith drained the longest putt on No. 12 and Seasly nestled the ball closest to the pin on No. 11.

n With one week to go in the Baumann Old Fort Ex-Hi Golf League, Phil Lee and Jon Frankart lead with 48 1/2 points. Todd Hull was closest in his third shot on No. 13. Matt Swecker sank the longest putt on No. 14 and Mark Miller was closest on his second shot on No. 15.

n In the Reineke Early Flight on Wednesday nights at Clinton Heights, Joey Diehm and Billy Diehm lead with 50 points. John Bing was closest in two on No. 1 and Jim Carter sank the long putt on No. 3. Gary Dickerson was closest to the pin on No. 5 while Ron Kern smoked the long drive on No. 7. Dave Snyder was closest in three on No. 9.

n In the Seneca Hills Tuesday Morning Ladies Golf League, Carla Siebenaller, Becky Mouradian, Debbie Gerschutz and Pat Sauers took first place. Coming in second was Linda Phares, Paula Bowers, Carol Shook and Bobbie Herschey. The team of Linda Lawrence, LouAnn Newlove, Lee Michaels and Eileen Borer was third while Barb Kuhn, Marge Kirian, Paula Wise and Shirley Scheerer taking fourth.

n The Monday Morning Two-Man Scramble League at Clinton Heights wrapped up the regular season with the team of Ted Rombach and Mike Hampp winning with 55 points. Don Kin and Bob Overholt were second with 48 1/2 points. Kin was closest in two on No. 15 and Overholt sank the long putt on No. 10 and was closest in three on No. 17.

n The team of Merle Krauss, Paul E. Fey, Frank Michniak and Ray Krupp tied the foursome of Dutch Edeburn, Jim Ruess, Pat McCarthy and Ron Shoup at 6-under to win the Thursday Retiree's League at Seneca Hills. Krupp dropped the long putt on No. 12 and Chuck Wilbery was closest to the pin on No. 18.

CORRECTION: Calvert eighth grade volleyball player Alexi Nielsen was misidentified in a writeup in Thursday's paper.

JV TENNIS: Upper Sandusky's Kayla Gault won a singles match against Galion, while Desiree Young and Nadia English each fell.

n Calvert's Samantha Gase and Mikayla Danan beat Fostoria's Autumn Affholder and Lauren Risner 8-1. Fostoria's Alyssia Sandoval dropped Nicole Fretz 6-1, and Redmen Pernille Knudsen and Angelica Esquivel doubled up Cassie Recker and Kerrigan Kwiat 6-3.

n Columbian's wins against Bellevue came from the doubles teams of Rachel Gates and Jillian Ledwedge, Qiqi Dong and Julianne Peacock, Mallory Weaver and Colleen Smith, Tiffany Walker and Kayla Magrum, Dallas Steward and Sam Krintzline, and Logan Kebler and Kristina Talbot-Koehl.

JV GOLF: Elmwood beat Seneca East 205-221.

OLD FORT: Season passes for Old Fort athletics for sale. The Midland Athletic League sets the price of $6 for adult tickets and $5 for students. All middle school athletic events costs $3. The prices for the 2012-13 school year passes are adults passes for $100, student passes (7-12) $25, Kader pass (K-6) $10 and the golden age pass is no cost to senior citizens of district students. The home game pass will be good for six volleyball, eight soccer, eight junior high volleyball, 11 boys basketball, 11 girls basketball, seven junior high boys basketball and seven junior high girls basketball contests. FRESHMAN FOOTBALL: Dominic Cruz returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a score to set the tone for Columbian's 24-0 win over Clyde. Justin Jarrett added a 30-yard TD pass to Cole Johnson and 1-yard scoring plunge for the Tornadoes, and Ross Pauley tallied a 10-yard TD run.

GOLF SCRAMBLE: The Ma and Pa Golf Scramble is at noon on Sept. 2 at Nature Trails. Cost is $35 per person, which includes green fees, a cart, prizes and food at the Ex-Hi Building in Fort Seneca. Call Ron Rau at (419) 448-9395 or (419) 937-6182.

RUNNING: The Clyde Kiwanis Club will sponsor the third annual Alexa Brown Memorial 5K Run/Walk Sept. 22 in downtown Clyde. The run/walk begins at 8:45 a.m. with a Kids Fun Run at 8:15 a.m. Registration times for the day of the race are between 7-8 a.m. Cost is $25 with a shirt (if available). n The Imperial Majorette League is having bowling meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at Heritage Lanes. JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL: Calvert's eighth graders beat Hopewell-Loudon 18-6. Hopewell-Loudon's score came on a 15-yard pass from Gage Sadler to Alex Borer.

JV FOOTBALL: Columbian vs. Clyde JV game at Frost-Kalnow Stadium will start at 10 a.m. Saturday.
