Tiffin Art Guild has partnered with JAZZin' Tiffin again this year for "A Masterpiece in the Making."
This juried, fine arts and fine crafts show is to take place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 8 on Frost Parkway in Tiffin. Local artists are to offer for sale paintings (watercolor, oil, acrylic), glass, drawings, jewelry, wood carvings, sculpture, ceramics, metal art, garden art, mixed 2-D and other fine media.
Friday is the deadline for artists to register for the show. The cost is $50 for a 10- by 10-foot booth. Applications can be downloaded online at www.tiffinartguild.org or stop at the gallery, 178 S. Washington St., and pick up a form.
The art show sponsors are TAG members Mary Lewis and Mark Levans of M.L. Advertising and Design LLC.
New this year is the People's Choice award. After viewing all the art in the booths, patrons can vote for their favorite artists. Voting is to take place at the TAG information booth. Ballots are to be available from TAG members and the artists.
Younger artists can stop by the Kid Zone, where children can work on arts and crafts projects they can take home. High school students and TAG volunteers are to guide the children through their projects.
The Kid Zone is sponsored by Elmwood at the Shawhan and TAG members Donna Eastlick and Diane Schafer.
People of all ages are invited to stop and add paint on the community mural designed by TAG's Diane Schafer and receive a free T-shirt while supplies last. No previous painting experience is necessary.
The 12-foot canvas, provided by Joe Moore of the International Cultural Center, is to become part of the Art Miles Mural Project, a 12-year movement combining the efforts of children and adults worldwide to promote global peace and harmony through mural art.
