Callahan now music minister at Church of God in Norwalk
NORWALK - Maple City Church of God, 40 Cline St., Norwalk, has hired Ronald Callahan as minister in music. The Revs. Kenny and Brenda Conley, who have pastored the congregation since 1998, are looking to expand the church ministries through this effort.
Callahan, of Tiffin, comes with more than 40 years in music ministry, serving the past 32 years with one congregation as worship leader/minister in music. He is an accomplished vocalist and organist, ministering on the Hammond organ, and has played for many statewide camp meetings, district conventions, revivals, youth rallies, fellowship meetings, county fairs, nursing homes, assisted living complexes, weddings, funerals, district and state ministers' conferences.
His presentation of worship incorporates stage and accent lighting, sound effects and occasional fog during the praise and worship segment of each service. His vision is to develop a worship team of vocalists and musicians that would minister with him in music.
Callahan also is to serve as administrative correspondent, performing all aspects of church correspondence and guest relations.
In January 2008, Callahan began Fostoria Church of God Coffee House Ministries and wants to promote the same intent in Norwalk as a combined youth ministry.
