Kenneth and Margaret Ward celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 29, 2012.
Today, their children are hosting a surprise cookout and they have planted a red bud tree at Junior Home Park in their honor.
Kenneth and the former Margaret Adams were married Aug. 29, 1947, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Tiffin, by the Rev. Haskins.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army 1944-46 and is a retired certified public accountant.
Margaret is a housewife.
They are parents of six children, Kenneth (Paula) Ward, Larry Lee (Linda) Ward, Reginald (Elaine) Ward, Sharon Pitzen, Cynthia Jordan and Nancy (Steve) Stapp and have 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
