LOCAL COLLEGES: Tiffin's men's soccer team posted a 3-3 tie against Slippery Rock. Edison Benda scored once for the Dragons and Cedric Bruce-Kotey had two goals. Goalkeeper Jeremy Ashley made eight saves for TU.

n Tiffin University's Lauren Bowyer scored the women's soccer team's only goal in a 4-1 loss to Lewis Sunday. Lindsey Gallagher made seven saves for TU in goal.

n Heidelberg's volleyball team finished 3-1 at the Ohio Northern University Invitational this past weekend. The Student Princes swept Wooster, 25-15, 25-22, 25-22, then defeated Carnegie Mellon, 22-25, 25-10, 25-14, 25-9 in Saturday's matches. HU split its two matches Friday. Amber Welfe had 12 kills against Wooster, while Marian Bevington added 11. Rachel Ferguson had 17 assists. In the match with Carnegie Mellon, Jacki Street smashed 13 kills and Calvert graduate Alexa Frank had 11 assists. Welfe had 13 kills in the day's second match.

n Oberlin doubled up Heidelberg's men's soccer team, 4-2. Christopher Koczak and Erik Furst each had a goal for HU.

GOLF: In the Clover Club League at Clinton Heights, Louie Brickner had the low gross with 30. while Matt Kraut had the low net with 27. Barth King had the long putt on No. 10, while Louie Brickner was closest in two on No. 18 and closest to the pin on the second shot on No. 12. David Gase was closest to the pin on No. 11 and had the long drive on No. 16.

n In Wednesday's Senior League at Clinton Heights, Dutch Edeburn, Tom Holz, Gary Kroeger and Tom Miller finished in first at six under par. Carl Rainey was closest to the pin in one on No. 8,while John Smith had the long putt on No. 4. Dave Seislove was closest to the pin in two shots on No. 1, while Bob Gooding was closest in three on No. 9.

JV FOOTBALL: Norwalk St. Paul shut out Calvert, 46-0. Adam Recker had 42 yards rushing for the Senecas, while Devun Stith went for 27 yards and Brad Iannantuono had 48 receiving yards. Drew Ritzler made an interception for Calvert.

n Columbian beat Mansfield Senior 34-18. Cliff Miller scored three rushing touchdowns for the Tornadoes, while Jake Adams had a rushing touchdown. Jeffrey Crawford had a receiving touchdown. Roman Williams, Tyler Gillig, Crawford and Matthew Zirger all had an interception.

NEW RIEGEL ATHLETIC BOOSTERS: There will be a meeting at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the New Riegel Moose.
