Questions about Romney

September 7, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

I have a question for the people of Seneca County. Mitt Romney states in his television ads that he is going to create good-paying jobs for the country to get America going again. So, what is a good-paying job? Fourteen or fifteen dollars an hour, maybe even 20, along with health insurance and vacation time.

I hear Mr. Romney owns Staples office supply. So what does the average Staples employee make per hour, $8 or $9? What about health insurance? If an employee is making $8 an hour, is that considered a good-paying job? Eight dollars an hour would not buy a house - maybe a dog house, but definitely not a house suitable for people to live in. At $8 an hour, it would not be possible to save for retirement while also trying to feed your family.

I also hear Mr. Romney's company, Bain Capital, was responsible for shutting down American Standard in Tiffin. Is that true, Mr. Romney?
