My name is Amelia Schoenfeld and I recently moved here from Louisville, Ky. I wanted to write this letter to express my gratitude and amazement with the Tiffin City School system. My son was halfway through his third-grade year when our family relocated to Tiffin. I thought my son's previous school was one of the best possible. However, upon experiencing Noble Elementary, I quickly realized I had no idea how good my son's public education really could be.
From the start of our experience with TCS, I immediately noticed the differences between here and our old school district. Finding the correct school and getting him registered was remarkably easy. After visiting Noble Elementary on my son's first day, I was grateful and reassured that he was going to receive an excellent education. I loved everything about the school and its faculty.
My son is a very bright student. However, during our time in Louisville, he constantly was having behavior issues. He'd finish an assigned task 20 minutes before most of the class, then begin talking and creating a disturbance. Every parent-teacher conference it was the same thing. "Alex is a bright boy, but he talks too much." Or "Alex needs to work on his self-control." I never questioned why he was exhibiting behavior issues while at the same time bringing home straight A's.
Upon beginning at Noble Elementary, I noticed a distinct change in my son's behavior. He was not disruptive, he enjoyed his time at school and, most importantly, he felt challenged by the work! I don't believe my son has ever had "behavior problems." I believe he needed to be challenged in the classroom and compelled to succeed. Because of Noble Elementary and TCS, my son has blossomed into the student I always knew he could be.
I can't express how appreciative I am to the educators and staff for helping my son meet and exceed his potential with more challenging work. My family and I are thrilled to be a part of such a beneficial and effective educational community.
