CAREY - Carey School Superintendent Mark Vehre Monday told board members total enrollment as of Aug. 22 was 856 students - 435 in elementary and 421 in junior high and high school.
He said this was the same enrollment for the beginning of the 2011 school year and the official count will be in October.
In another matter, Vehre told the district is sharing a bus route with the Vanlue school district to Millstream Career Center in Findlay, saving the district one trip a day.
In his report, High School Principal Peter Cole told the board midterm report cards would no longer be mailed. He said parents would receive a phone call to notify them and they can then go online to view the midterm and teacher comments.
The board awarded an honorary diploma to Dennis Sherman, a member of the 1971 graduating class who served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and left for duty in 1969.
