KANSAS - Superintendent David M. Danhoff reported the beginning of school was a "great opening."
He said the staff worked together to create a learning and caring atmosphere for the kids to have a chance for success and praised the administrators for the smooth start to the academic year.
During the meeting Monday, Danhoff noted recent permanent improvements to stadium sidewalks, scoreboard wiring, blacktop surfacing in front of bus garage and landscape grass seeding plans.
Treasurer Jennifer Hedrick distributed information to board members regarding an upcoming annual Ohio School Boards Association conference in November. She is working on a five-year financial forecast for the meeting in October.
A dedication and reception for Myron and Yolanda Cline, longtime cross country coaches will be Friday. All former runners are encouraged to attend. Contact the school for more information.

Approved Sarah Lawrence as kindergarten teacher and junior high volleyball coach.
Accepted the resignations of Tamara Aldrich as substitute bus operator, Kathryn Weber as junior high volleyball coach and JoAnna Bentley as junior high quiz bowl adviser.
Approved paraprofessional leave for Andrea Stuck Jan. 1-May 6.
Appointed Barbara Brockbader as a custodian for 2.5 hours per day as needed.
Approved supplemental contracts for Ryan Brooks as junior high boys basketball coach, David Ritter as high school head boys track coach, Linda Doering for fall weight room supervisor and Craig Balsizer and Michelle Schaser as head teachers.
Approved an FFA trip to the national convention in Indianapolis in October.
Accepted donations of 200 tote bags with school supplies from the United Ways of Sandusky County and school supplies and clothing from Scott Trinity United Methodist Church received during their Fill the Bus Drive.
Approved agreements with Wood County Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio, Sandusky County Health Department for Help Me Grow program and the Wood County Educational Service Center for cooperative services for autism and autism pooled attendant services.
The next regular meeting is 7 p.m. Oct. 8.
