Seneca County

During an apple baking program at 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, all ages can learn the history of apples and try baking an apple dessert over an open fire. Each person should bring an apple to share.

Garlo preserve, part of the Seneca County Park District, is south of Bloomville on SR 19. To register, call (419) 435-3915.

Sandusky County

Sandusky County Park District's monthly stargazing program is to take place at sunset Sept. 22 at Wolf Creek Park Campground. All ages are welcome to view the night sky with telescopes set up by

Sandusky Valley Amateur Astronomers.

Drive to the end of the campground road at the southern entrance to Wolf Creek Park, 2701 SR 53, north of Tiffin.

A "Meet Me at the Cabin" program about apples is planned for 6 p.m. Sept. 25 at White Star Cabin, 5013 CR 65, Gibsonburg.

Join Linda Rose under the shade of the maple tree to learn the history of apples, discover different kinds of apples, and make an apple dessert over coals.

Nature-cise is planned 9:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at the North Coast Inland Trail's Elmore entrance.

Meet in downtown Elmore for an autumn walk along the trail. Search the skies for hawks, investigate trees for insects and scan the ground for scat piles while getting fresh air and exercise.
