Old Fort soccer shuts out Senecas

Calvert soccer coach Mike Fabrizio said it was the best half Calvert played all season, as the Senecas went to the break against Old Fort down only 2-0.

But the Stockaders took control of the game in the second half, scoring five times and winning, 7-0 at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

Garet Kimmet and Cole Davidson scored two goals each for Old Fort, while Tito Lopez, Brandon Tittle and Jose Carvalho all added a score.

Old Fort outshot the Senecas 43-8. Calvert goalkeeper Jacob Zimmerman made 18 saves.

"We played hard in second half too, but we made a few mistakes," Fabrizio said.

Warriors fall to Sandusky

Sandusky defeated Mohawk's girls soccer team, 1-0.

Alexys Jones scored Sandusky's lone goal. Mohawk had 10 shots on goal while Sandusky had five. Jenna Maggit had 10 saves while Runion had four for the Warriors.

Shelby blanks Rams

SHELBY - Upper Sandusky couldn't find victory against Shelby on Monday, falling 5-0 against the Whippets' tennis team.

In first singles, Shelby's Ashely Stahl downed Taylor Clark, 6-1, 6-3 while Katie Boor did the same to Kilee Saylor, 6-0, 6-2 in second singles.

Katie Bowman narrowly defeated Upper Sandusky's Jenny Ohler in a 7-5, 6-4 victory in third singles.

Chloe Yetzer and Sam Wiggins toppled Logan Pierson and Taylor Dilley in first doubles, 6-0, 6-0, while Macie Dechert and Allison Naugle repeated the win in second doubles, upending Megan Pasco and Nadia English, 6-0, 6-1.

Bender leads Old Fort over Bobcats

BETTSVILLE - Old Fort's Kristin Bender almost recorded a double-double en route to a 25-19, 25-15, 25-16 win over Bettsville.

Bender served nine aces, hammered 16 kills and had one block for Old Fort (2-9) while Sammy Miller had two aces and 10 digs. Sara Bell tossed up 15 assists and Sam Hartsel smashed four kills and registered two blocks.

2nd doubles scores lone win for Calvert

No singles player could pull out a win for the Senecas but one doubles team did, securing the lone victory in a 1-4 loss to Mansfield St. Peter.

St. Peter's Ann Carracher won first singles, 6-1, 6-3 over Madison Daniel while Janty Saunders won 6-0, 6-3 over CeCi Burtis in second singles. Margaret Bowers fell to Katie Larson, 7-5, 6-3 in third singles.

Caroline Amalirano and Natalie Zupan opened up a 6-2, 6-2 win in first doubles over Calvert's Regina Hoepf and Nicole Fretz while Stasia Hothfretz and Samantha Gase downed Mansfield St. Peter's Katie Kowalski and Sarah Cornell in second doubles.

The loss drops Calvert to 2-6.
