MANSFIELD - The day couldn't have gone any better for the Calvert tennis team. The Senecas swept Mansfield Senior 5-0, not losing a game in any of the four contested matches.
Madison Daniel and CeCi Burtis posted 6-0, 6-0 victories over Leandra Davis and Jabrezia Sims respectively. Calvert won the third singles match via forfeit.
At No. 1 doubles, Margaret Bowers and Samantha Gase beat Shirley Owens and Destini Crosby 6-0, 6-0. Anika Maiberger and Regina Hoepf scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Victoria Pounds and Cayci Elswick at second doubles.
Calvert improves to 2-8 with the win.
TC nets 15th win
FREMONT - The Columbian win total has hit 15 this season with a 5-0 victory over Fremont St. Joe. In singles action, Alex Kramer scored a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Katie Blohm, Kelly Bishop beat Tricia Reinhart 6-4, 6-4 and Sarah Guzowski topped Madie Collins 6-1, 6-1.
The top TC doubles team of Allie Elchert and Audrey Vrancken beat Ashley Burns and Daniella Baez 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Kelsey Drown and Ashley Niedermier beat Cara Tiell and Caroline Darr 6-1, 6-4.
The Tornadoes sit at 15-1 on the year.
Rams topple Tornadoes
UPPER SANDUSKY - Shin Nagahama got things rolling for Upper Sandusky, who went on to roll past Columbian, 3-1.
Nagahama scored a goal five minutes into the game before Columbian's Morton Mogelmose fired in a tying goal 15 minutes later.
However, Columbian was held scoreless the remainder of the game.
Luke Miller came out hot in the second half, scoring within the first minute while teammate Brandon Miller added the final goal of the game 8 minutes after.
Josh Gibson had 14 saves for Columbian (2-7) while William Amert had nine for Upper Sandusky (8-4) .
