Dorothy "Dottie" Herrin, 79, of Clovis, N.M., passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Retirement Ranch, Clovis.
She was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Republic, to Floyd and Luella (Shontz) Hensinger and graduated from Scipio Republic High School in 1951. She served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 as a teletype operator. In later years, she worked as a clerk for J.C.Penney.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Charles) Speice of Clovis, N.M.; three grandchildren, Jason (Alicia) Spearman, Terrance Speice and Brandon Speice; four great-grandchildren, Tanner, Lyndsi, Cade and Zak; her sister, Kate (Raymond) Bordner of Attica; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bobby Hampshire; and two brothers, John Hensinger and Jim Hensinger.
Graveside services took place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Texico Cemetery, Texico, N.M., with Daryl Tennefos officiating. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice of New Mexico or the ASPCA.
