Fred and Kay Zirger will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a 4:30 p.m. Mass and wedding blessing Oct. 6, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, and an open house 1-5 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. Mary's recreation room.
They were married Oct. 6, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, by the Rev. Timothy Downey.
Fred is the son of Louise Zirger and the late Richard Zirger. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and is a retired millwright and maintenance technician.

Kay, the daughter of the late Lewis and Virginia Thom, retired from Mohawk High School.
They are parents of five children, Mark Zirger, who is deceased, Mike (Lisa) Zirger, Jill (Jay) Seiter, Dan (Rasha) Zirger and Brian Zirger. They also have seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
