Saturday the local United Way kicked off its annual fundraising drive.

Contestants (from left) are Batman, Heaven Lawrence as Spiddywoman, Troy Shook as Captain America, Christine Courtney as Superwoman, Ella Hoover as Catwoman, Reece Hoover as her mouse sidekick, John Davoli as Superman and Tiffin Police Officer Jacob DeMonte with K9 officer Andy, dressed as Underdog.
In the children’s contest, Troy Shook placed first, with Heaven Lawrence second and the Hoover sisters tied for third. For the adults, Superman was voted first place, followed by Batman and Superwoman.
