Prep Volleyball: Eastwood routs Redmen

FOSTORIA - Eastwood improved to 12-0 in Northern Buckeye Conference play, locking up a share of the league title with a 25-10, 25-9, 25-9 over Fostoria.

Erica Moore recorded two kills and two blocks for Fostoria.

Buckettes claim division share

MOUNT BLANCHARD - Buckeye Central wrapped up at least a share of the North Central Conference Silver Division crown Tuesday with a 25-10, 25-15, 25-7 win over Riverdale.

The victory upped the Buckettes (16-2) to 11-0 in the division with three matches to go.

Libero Brooke Karl and setters Kilee Kimmel and Emily Weithman set the tone.

Karl came up with 17 digs and served three aces, Kimmel had 18 assists and two aces and Weithman registered 16 assists, seven kills, seven digs and two aces.

Sammi Marcum smashed 12 kills, Maddie Williams belted 11 kills and Kendra Schultz drilled five kills and two blocks. Jenna Delarber smacked three kills and four blocks in two games.

Warriors stay perfect in MAL

SYCAMORE - Ashley Parker tossed up 23 assists and Kasey Adelsperger slammed 14 kills and five aces Tuesday in Mohawk's 25-7, 25-6, 25-8 domination of Midland Athletic League foe Bettsville.

Clara Adelsperger added nine assists, three kills and three aces for the Warriors (16-2, 8-0 MAL), and Sarah Parker thumped nine kills and four aces.

Lynsey Trusty chipped in six digs, Julie Adelsperger (2 aces) belted six kills, Ali Konkle lined five kills and Taylor McClain had four digs.

Calvert puts away Carey

Calvert took the opening two games from Carey before the Blue Devils rallied to take the third. However, Calvert responded with a vengeance in the fourth game to put away Carey 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, 25-6.

"Everyone wanted this one bad. It would have been easy to look to the Thursday night game with Mohawk and overlook a very good Carey team," Calvert coach Greg Hendrix said. "But the girls came ready to get after it. I could see in the warmups the girls were ready to battle."

Kaleigh Hendrix led the Senecas with 10 kills and 30 assists. Haley Felter added nine kills, Jordan Gase eight, Meridith Lucius seven and Amber Perry five.

Calvert stays unbeaten in league play, moving to 8-0 in the Midland Athletic League and 13-5 overall.

Carey (11-5, 5-3 MAL) was led by Hannah Tong, who smashed 19 kills and five blocks. Logan Johnson had 30 digs and served four aces. Sydney Wentling added 26 digs and 29 assists.

Blue Jackets flatten SE

NEW RIEGEL - Three New Riegel players combined for 32 kills and 38 digs Tuesday in a 25-14, 25-11, 25-10 Midland Athletic League win over Seneca East.

Taylor Arbogast sparked the Blue Jackets (17-1, 7-1 MAL) with 12 kills and 11 digs, Lauren Ladd had 11 kills and 11 digs and Kara Scherger tallied nine kills and 16 digs.

Cassandra Acree chipped in 30 assists, Brittany Gillig came up with nine digs, Morgan Noftz handed out six assists and Alexis Kieffer slammed five kills.

Chieftains outlast Old Fort

OLD FORT - Hopewell-Loudon dropped its first two games Tuesday to Old Fort, then rallied to take the next three, including a thrilling fifth game for an 18-25, 20-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-12 win.

Courtney Burns and Racquel Hossler both turned in triple-doubles for H-L (7-12, 4-4 Midland Athletic League).

Burns tallied 27 assists, 15 kills, 15 digs and three aces, while Hossler had 26 assists, 15 kills and 15 digs.

Logan Frank (2 aces, 2 assists) drilled 21 kills and added 17 digs, Kassie Shaver smacked 15 kills and chipped in 10 digs, Kassie Welly came up with 10 digs and Shelby Sauber tallied 15 digs, four kills and three aces.

Old Fort (2-16, 2-6) was led by Kristin Bender who slammed 26 kills, while picking up 15 digs. Sam Hartsel added six kills. Krista Ward dished out 33 assists. Shelby Bigler led the Old Fort defense with 19 digs, while Sammy Miller had eight.

Willard edges out TC

WILLARD - Columbian dropped a nail-biter to Northern Ohio League foe Willard 25-17, 22-25, 25-11, 18-25, 15-13.

Columbian was led by Haley Sendelbach with 19 kills. Sarah Berecz chipped in 16. Defensively, Megan Murphy led with 20 digs. Michaela Sharlow added 16.

Columbian falls to 4-12, 2-6 NOL.

Mohawks draw even on season

NORTH BALTIMORE - St. Wendelin evened up its season mark at 9-9 with a 25-13, 25-9, 25-17 win over North Baltimore.

Ali Mowrey helped serve up the victory with 12 aces in the match. Olivia Zimmerman led the Mohawks (2-6 Midland Athletic League) with eight kills. Catrina Lang was right behind her with seven. Allie Rutter dished out 11 assists.

Defensively, Becca Starn had seven blocks and Colleen Fondessy led with nine digs.

Streaks sweep Lakota

FREMONT - St. Joe cruised past Lakota 25-10, 25-16, 25-11.

Lakota (6-10, 3-5 Midland Athletic League) was led by Rachel Feick with seven kills. Rachel Miller had seven assists, three aces and nine digs. Makayla Kiser had eight assists and two aces. Alaina Bickford led the defense with 14 digs.

Rams survive Galion

GALION - Taylor Graboski's 26 kills, 18 digs and seven blocks helped pace Upper Sandusky to a hard-fought 25-19, 25-18, 25-27, 29-27 win over Galion.

Jessi Holly added 14 kills while Kalene Johnson slammed eight. Allison Snyder helped set them all up, dishing out 52 assists.

Defensively Jenna Holly led with 30 digs while Jessi Holly had 20.
