Area residents may have heard or seen the band, Get in the Ark, playing at Phat Cakes or Red Raven Java House. Friday, the group is to perform as part of Friday Night Live at The National Theatre in Tiffin.
The players include James Meadows of Tiffin on guitar and vocals; his siblings David Meadows on guitar and vocals and Becky Meadows on clarinet and vocals (both of Sandusky); and Zach Turner of Bellevue on trombone. The foursome has been performing independent folk music since spring 2010.
"It's all original. We've been playing music for years and we just decided to start a band. I had some material, and so did my brother, that we had written," James said.

Members of Get in the Ark are James Meadows of Tiffin on guitar and vocals; his siblings David Meadows on guitar and vocals and Becky Meadows on clarinet and vocals (both of Sandusky); and Zach Turner of Bellevue on trombone.
A musical family, the Meadows reflect their Christian upbringing in their music. James and his wife, Nikole, operate the Java House and Java House at Red Raven in Tiffin. In August, the band completed a self-titled debut CD with seven tracks. They did a two-week tour of Tennessee and North Carolina to promote the album.
Friday's audience also will hear those songs.
"We had some radio shows, some interviews and things like that. ... we played a lot of really awesome venues that said they would definitely have us back and promote more the next time we come out," he said.
James said Get in the Ark has a tour of Ohio and Michigan in the works for later this year.
Nikole said the band's name is an obvious Biblical reference to the story of Noah, but the band has taken that a step farther.
"It's also an open invitation for others to feel welcome to participate in the shows, whether it's by just sitting back and enjoying the music or, depending on the setting, we have had violinists, drummers, horn players, and even an ukulele player feel comfortable enough to come on stage and play, or 'get in the ark,' with us," she said.
The band can be booked by calling (567) 201-8882.
