The two-division, 17-team Seneca/Wyandot/Put-in-Bay/Sandusky Area High School Quiz Bowl League opened its 2012-13 regular season Sept. 18 with matches at Calvert, Put-in-Bay and Upper Sandusky. Two teams have new coaches at their helms this year, Len Donaldson at Columbian High School and Sarah Green at Fostoria High School.
Four teams, two in each division, are 3-0. In the North Division, host school Put-in-Bay and defending champion, Clyde, champion of both last year's North Division and the tournament, have 3-0 records. Hopewell-Loudon, last year's South Division champion and Seneca East, second-place finisher, are also 3-0. Carey and New Riegel in the South Division are tied at 2-1. In the North Division, Bettsville, Bridges, Old Fort and Ross had one win each. In the South Division, it was St. Wendelin, Upper Sandusky and Fostoria who had one win each.
