ATTICA - Our Lady of Hope Parish is staging Octoberfest 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at the parish grounds, CR 56, Attica, south of US 224.
A roast pork dinner is to be served 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the social hall. The adult dinner includes pork, potato (mashed or hot German potato salad), sauerkraut, green beans or applesauce, dinner roll, beverage and pie or cake. Children's dinners also are to be available, consisting of a hot dog or pork along with a side, beverage and dessert.
Apple dumplings, ice cream, fudge brownies, nachos and cheese, grilled bologna, hamburgers, and bratwurst, fries and onion rings are some of the foods that are to be for sale on the grounds.
Free bakery bingo is to begin at 2:30 p.m. under the large tent in the east lawn, right after a performance by the Small Town Singers from Willard. They are to entertain with a doo-wop show at 1 p.m.
Outdoor festivities for all ages are to run 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The children's area is to feature games with prizes, including a duck pond, ball drop, lucky chance, Barkley and Cookie Monster. A ping pong challenge is to have live gold fish for prizes.
Children also can find their way through a straw maze, take a ride on the train, visit the petting zoo or jump in an inflatable house.
Teenagers and adults can try their luck for a chance to win prizes at the dime pitch, ring toss, lucky chance or Nerf target.
Also that day is a 5K run and 2K walk. Registration is to begin at 11:15 a.m. in the front yard of the parish grounds, with the race starting at noon. Prizes are to be awarded to the top male and female finishers. There also will be door prizes for walk/run participants.
A general store is to include various canned jams, vegetables, apple butter and homemade baked goods.
A silent auction is to be conducted with the winning bids being announced at 4 p.m. Raffle tickets are to be available that day at $1 each, 6 for $5 or 12 for $10. The grand prize drawing of $500 is to take place at 5 p.m.
