Doris L. Barto

Doris L. Barto, 81, of Tiffin, passed away at 4 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Doris was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Tiffin, to Lloyd L. and Mildred L. (Leffler) Kingseed. She married Eldon L. "Skeet" Barto May 26, 1951, in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death.

Doris is survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Nay of Tiffin, Sharon Schoen of Naples, Fla., and Barbara Heffner of Youngstown; four nieces; four nephews; and six stepnieces.

Doris was a homemaker and a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Columbian High School and was known for her delicious pies and cookies. Doris was happiest working in her yard and flower garden. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Doris also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Becky Sue Barto; two brothers, Albert and Ralph Kingseed; and two brothers-in-law, John Barto and James Heffner.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-1221, with Pastor John Alice officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Fort United Methodist Church.
