Rich W. Froehlich, 63, of Luckey, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Akron City Hospital, Akron, due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.
He was born July 16, 1949, in Tiffin, to William and Bertha (Schafer) Froehlich. For 34 years he was a mechanic at Matlack Trucking Company. He also was a substitute bus driver for Eastwood Local School District and a maintenance man for the village of Luckey. His memberships included: AHRMA, AMA District 14, Trials Inc., co-founder of the Knights of Tiffin Motorcycle Club No. 2945, and the Edward Grine American Legion Post No. 354, New Riegel.
Rich served his country proudly in the United States Air Force while stationed in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1973. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and being outdoors. Rich will truly be missed by all who knew him, his smile on his face and how he lived life to its fullest.
Rich is survived by the love of his life, Fran Patterson of Luckey; his sister, Marie (Nick) Miller of Salem, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth (Lenny) Berzins.
Family and friends will be received 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 SR 105, Pemberville, with his memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Miller.
