Leo J. Olmstead, 84, of Fostoria, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital, Fostoria.
He was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Risingsun, to Leo Richard and Mary Virginia (Stahl) Olmstead. He married Nina P. Bomer Nov. 22, 1946, in Fostoria, and she survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Dennis R. (Susan) Olmstead of Findlay, Becky Lou ( Bruce) Hippensteel of Fostoria and Robert L. (Debbie) Olmstead of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchilden; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Calvin Olmstead of Bettsville and Vernon (Linda) Olmstead of Fostoria; and a sister, Ella Nor Keckler of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Cindy Ann and Sally Jo Olmstead; and three bothers.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.
Visitation is 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
His funeral is 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russ Nelson presiding. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will provide military honors.
