On behalf of the Tiffin Fire Fighter's Local 322, I would like to thank and congratulate all of the participants from our inaugural 5K run and 1-mile fun run. The day was a huge success, drawing more than 350 people between the two events, many traveling over an hour just to participate. Our original hope was to have 100 runners or walkers.
I would like to extend our appreciation to the following sponsors and donors: Dave's Running, Clouse Construction, Reser Chiropractic, Family Heritage Insurance, Ballreich's, Hempy Water, Aldi's, Mohawk Golf & Country Club and many others who donated for door prizes.
As part of the day's events, we were selling our 2012 fire department pink shirts. In the first week these shirts were on sale, we have sold more than we did all of last October. The great amount of support the residents of Tiffin and surrounding community has provided us has been humbling once again.
Our goal for the month of October was to raise a total of $6,000 for the Stefanie Spielman Fund at The Ohio State University. We are already at 90 percent of that goal!
Without question, we will be back next year! We look forward to hosting each of our participants again and hopefully even some new faces. Thank you!
