Thanks to super people

October 13, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

Tiffin-Seneca United Way wishes to thank all those who helped recently with our United Way campaign kickoff and Super Hero Festival at Tiffin University's Heminger Center. A special thanks goes to our sponsors, Old Fort Banking Co., Tiffin Ford, Fifth-Third Securities, Fabrizio Chiropractic, and a special anonymous donor who made this event possible, as well as all of our raffle donors.

We had a wonderful time and even had some special super hero guests who came out to meet and greet the festival-goers and little people in our community! A super duper thanks to Batman, Superman, Superwoman, Spider-Man (you know who you are), along with Officer Jake DeMonte and K-9 Andy, dressed as Underdog! You truly are our super heroes for making our event so special!

We truly owe a debt of gratitude to Connie and Molly Maksemetz for their help with the face artistry. They were amazing and made all of the kids feel very special!

Thanks to all of the agencies and volunteer representatives for their efforts to provide fun activities for the kids; thank you to the volunteers from Heidelberg University and Tiffin University who came to help with setup, cleanup and the many other tasks (making masks, the costume contest, entrance table, staffing the booths for the 50/50, the raffle and the concession stand). A very special thanks to Louise Ducsay and her volunteers who watched over the inflatable bounce houses from Jumpers Wild, so everyone could have fun and no one would get hurt!

I would especially like to thank Jeremy Croy and his staff at Tiffin University Heminger Center for all of their help. What a great venue to host our Super Hero Festival, as your facility is like the Superdome and we were proud to invite the community into see what an amazing facility we have right here in Tiffin, Ohio!

I would be remiss if I did not say a special thanks to Eric Shook, Kelly and Jeff Hohman, Emily and Carson, Dan Frank, Mary Dazey, Christine Courtney, Haley and Julieanne Hough, Gabe McConn, Ashli Tisdale and Barb Stanton for all of their help with the preparations, setup and tear down.

Please know you are all very special people (if I missed someone, please forgive me), and you are our super heroes!

Sincerely united,

Pat DeMonte, executive director,
