Robert J. "Bob" Etzinger, 77, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 5, 1935, in Bucyrus, to Robert Hipp and Florence Lottie (Robertson) Etzinger. He married Carolyn Peltier Sept. 29, 1956, at Grace Lutheran Church, Wadsworth, and she survives him in Fostoria.
Also surviving are three sons, Robert P. (Rebecca) of Findlay, James A. (Deborah) of Fostoria and Michael E. (Janet Boyer) of Germantown, Md.; five grandchildren; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Edward Eztinger; and a sister, JoAnn Calmes.
Bob was a 1953 Fostoria High School graduate. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956. He was a purchasing agent for the former Gray Printing Company, retiring in 1997 after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Fostoria Ohio Glass Association, Barnes Deinzer Seneca County Museum Foundation Board and Trinity Lutheran Church of Arcadia.
Bob was an excellent wood-worker. He designed and constructed the display case that houses the original architectural drawings of the Seneca County Courthouse. He enjoyed traveling both in the U.S. and Europe, London being his favorite destination.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. today, Oct. 19, 2012 at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
His funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, with Pastor D.J. Dent officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
