Tiffin's Little Box Shops are teaming up to present Holiday Happenings 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Downtown businesses and a few others on the west side of the city are offering special festivities and sales. Twenty-one locally-owned shops, motels, restaurants and other attractions are participating.

Be sure to get a Little Box Shops bingo card at participating businesses. No purchase is needed to play. First prize is a $25 gift certificate from all 21 stores. Second prize is a Kindle Fire, while third prize is a $100 gasoline card.

Starting at the south end of Washington Street, shoppers can explore the meats, seafood and frozen food products at Surf'n Turf. Employees will be grilling samples for visitors. Moving north past the Civil War Museum, one can locate Signatures of Seneca County, a shop with gifts and collectibles from local artisans, businesses and schools. Phillips Electric is to have refreshments to enjoy while looking at appliances. Red Raven Gallery and Java House, 126 S. Washington St., is to offer free coffee samples, entertainment and an art show.

Make a detour to Crystal Traditions on Madison Street, across from Calvert High School, to watch crystal cutting by Aiden Scully and glass blowing demonstrations. The showroom has sparkling displays including Russian nesting dolls, jewelry and hand-carved Santas by Michele Dammron. At 212 Jefferson St., The Angelus is offering a variety of religious merchandise, including music, books, jewelry, puzzles and statues.

Find lighting fixtures at Burns Electric, 116 E. Market St. The store also carries appliances, flooring, countertops and cabinets. Reino's Pizza and Pasta will be serving their specialties at 73 E. Market St.

Back on Washington Street, have the proprietors at Bailiwick's Coffee Co. brew a cappuccino or mocha. A few steps farther north is Phat Cakes with sandwiches, soup, baked goods and even beer. In the rear is Bunky's Bike Service doing free bicycle checks and conducting a drawing for an expert bike tune-up.

Cross the river to Ralph's Joy of Living to find kitchen gadgets, wines and coffees. Check out their appliances and model kitchens as well.

Traveling west on Miami Street, guests will find Frameworks with handmade gifts by 19 local artists. Heading over to West Market Street, shoppers can stop at the Wolf Creek shopping area to visit Jeffrey Jewelry and Threads. These family-owned shops carry a selection of merchandise.

While in the area, visitors are asked to consider a stop at the Tiffin Art Guild Gallery, 178 S. Washington St., or a visit to one of Tiffin's four museums. Seneca County Museum is at 28 Clay St. On Washington Street in downtown Tiffin, stop at Tiffin Glass Museum and the American Civil War Museum of Ohio. Enchanted Moment Doll Museum is at 174 Jefferson St.
