Donald Shuff, 79, of Tiffin, died at 8:07 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin.
Don was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Bascom, to Otto and Inez (Thom) Shuff. He married Belva Sue (Eakin) Sept. 4, 1951, in Monroe, Mich., and she preceded him in death Oct. 21, 1992.
Don is survived by two sisters, Wanda (Luther) Tully of Lorain and Leona Altwies of Tiffin; sister-in-law, Patricia Shuff; one aunt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Shuff; and a brother-in-law, Chuck Altwies.
Don owned and operated Don Shuff Siding for many years before retiring due to illness. Don was a former member of the Eagles, Moose and the American Quarter Horse Association. Don was an avid horseman. He raised and raced quarter horses from which he won many trophies and ribbons.
Don's wishes were to be cremated with a private burial beside his wife at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin. Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Tiffin, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor's choice.
