Marching band

to give indoor concert

FOSTORIA - The annual Fostoria High School marching band review concert is set for 7 p.m. today in the performing arts center at the high school. The band is to present all the pre-game and half-time music from the 2012 season.

Admission is free.

Sign-ups for Christmas assistance are set for 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. today through Friday and Nov. 5-9 at The Salvation Army, 505 E. Perry St.

Adults must bring proof of identification, residency, income and expenses for the household.

Friday also is the coat distribution, and the office is to remain open until 6 p.m. for sign-ups.

YMCA booths still at hand

Crafters and vendors are still needed to fill a few spots at the TiffinY-Wives Holiday Extravaganza, Nov. 10 at the YMCA.

Toy collection planned

CLYDE - The city of Clyde is conducting a community collection starting Thursday and continuing through Dec. 6.

"Caring for Clyde Kids" is an effort to collect cash and toys for children in the Clyde-Green Springs School District. The Clyde Food Pantry is to use donations to prepare and distribute Christmas boxes for families.

Collection boxes are to be placed at Clyde St. Mary Church, the police station, the city finance office, post office, Croghan Bank and the board of education office.

Only new or gently used, clean toys are accepted. Other acceptable items include bath and body products, AA and AAA batteries, make-up and hair care items and Clyde Flier merchandise.
