Corrine J. Bauer, 88, of Fostoria, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, Oct. 28, 2012, at her home.
She was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Bloomdale, to Heberon C. and Idella M. (Dillon) Steiner. She married Fred J. Bauer June 18, 1955, in Fostoria, and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are three children, Michael J. Bauer of Fostoria, Patricia A. Bauer of Put-In-Bay and Rosemary M. (Guy) Tibbels of Marblehead; two grandchildren, Tug and Annie Tibbels; stepdaughter, Elvira (Hugo) Legrand of Germany; a brother, Hubert Steiner of Fostoria; and two sisters, Alice Hendricks of Vanlue and Verna Smelser of Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Virgil Dillon, Carl Steiner and Wilber Steiner; and two sisters, Alma Insley and Carrie Frizzell.
Corrine was a homemaker and had worked at the former Flechtner Packing, Fostoria. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and had been involved with its RCIA program. She was a 1943 graduate of Arcadia High School.
Corrine will be dearly remembered for her cookie baking and the love she had shown for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be 3:45 p.m.
Her Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery, Fostoria.
