Local artist to show work

Tiffin Tomorrow's store, Signatures of Seneca County, 207 S. Washington St., is hosting jewelry artist Joy Rose 4-7 p.m. today. She is to feature her Lake Erie Beach glass jewelry designs.

Light refreshments are to be served.

A Tiffin Art Guild member, Rose also is to have her work available at the Y-Wives Holiday Extravaganza Nov. 10.

Pianist to perform Friday

The Heidelberg University School of Music is to host a concert by pianist Avguste Antonov, this year's distinguished Montague artist at the school.

The concert, at 7 p.m. Friday in Brenneman Music Hall, is free.

UF marching band to perform

FINDLAY The University of Findlay Marching Oiler Brass is to perform an indoor concert at 2 p.m. Sunday in Winebrenner Theological Seminary.

The concert is free, but tickets are required. To reserve a seat, call (419) 434-5335.

Churches plan bazaars

ARCADIA The Harvest Bazaar at Arcadia United Methodist Church is to take place 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 19397 CR 216, Arcadia.

The lunch includes apple dumplings, homemade noodles and other favorites served all day.

A cookie walk, bake sale, crafts, rag rugs and a quilt raffle also are planned.

FOSTORIA Hope Lutheran Church is to host its 25th annual Olde Tyme Church Bazaar 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 10.

The "Country Harvest Kitchen" is to serve homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts. Those who bring an item for the Fostoria Food Pantry can choose a free ornament from the holiday tree.

In addition to crafts and baked goods for sale, patrons can explore the "white elephant" rooms, buy tickets for a quilt raffle, take a "cookie walk" and buy hot drinks at the coffee house.

The church is at Wood and Center streets in downtown Fostoria.

November stage productions

The Ritz Teen Thespian Guild has chosen the comedy "Auntie Mame" as its fall production.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 on the main stage at 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Fostoria High School is to stage the Neil Simon comedy "Rumors" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Fostoria Junior-Senior High School, 1001 Park Avenue, Fostoria.

Calvert High School is to present "James and Giant Peach" at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the school, 152 Madison St., Tiffin.

Jazz band to note Veterans Day

FREMONT - American Legion Post 121, 2000 Buckland Ave., Fremont, is to host a dinner and dance featuring the Terra State Jazz Band Nov. 9.

Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., program at 7 p.m. and dancing begins at 8 p.m. The evening also is to include a grand prize raffle and 50-50 drawing.

Terra State Jazz Band is a full Big Band ensemble that specializes in traditional and contemporary styles of jazz, swing, funk and blues.

Tickets are $10 for the dinner and dance; $7 for the dance only.

Kingpins coming to Fremont

FREMONT - George Bedard and the Kingpins are to perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 10 at The Strand Concert Theater, 220 S. Front St., Fremont.

The band performs rhythm and blues-style swing, surf, garage thrill music, blues and rock 'n' roll.
