Barbara Ann Herrig, 87, of Fostoria, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born May 27, 1925, in New Riegel, to Leo and Della (Warniment) Kimmet. She married John F. Herrig Oct. 1, 1946, and he died Dec. 24, 1994.
Surviving are four children, John N. Herrig and Cynthia L. (Daniel) Vanderhoff, both of Fostoria, Teresa J. (Larry) Wiltsie of Findlay and Lori L. (Steve) Graham of Klamath Falls, Ore.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gilbert and Edward Kimmet; and three sisters, Ruth Crawford, Bertilla Gase and Lucille Kimmet.
Barbara was an LPN at Fostoria City Hospital for 25 years, worked as a greeter at Meijer, Findlay, and a receptionist for the former dentist, Dr. Ruble. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, its Rosary Altar Society, Memorial Choir and Small Faith Community. She also had been a member of Fostoria Eagles, Just Friends Group and the Retired Nurses Organization.
Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria. A Christian wake service will be at 4:45 p.m.
Her Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. A funeral luncheon will follow the funeral Mass.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel.
