Sharon Kennedy was the first in her family of eight to graduate from college and she did it by paying her own way. Twenty-seven years ago, she became a police officer in Hamilton and, when she wins her race for the Ohio Supreme Court, she will be the first police officer that I know of to serve on the bench. With her trademark energy, drive, determination and tenacity, she put herself through law school working full time, part time, days, nights, weekends - whatever is took to pay her tuition and law books. She has worked hard for everything she has gotten.
After graduation, she hung out her shingle and worked in private practice, solving the community's problems one family at a time. Thirteen years as a Butler County judge completes one of the most impressive backgrounds any candidate for the Ohio Supreme Court has ever had.
What kind of Ohio Supreme Court judge will she be? She will be the one who knows it is wrong for judges to legislate from the bench.
