Frederick and Shirley McDole recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise celebration party Oct. 14, 2012, at Tiffin Middle School. Their children also surprised them with a trip to Amish country Sept. 22.
The couple was married Sept. 29, 1962, at First Church of the Nazarene, Tiffin, with the Rev. A.E. Puesey officiating.
Frederick, the son of the late Willard and Martha McDole, is self-employed.

Shirley, the daughter of the late Cleo and Mabel Sines, is a homemaker.
The couple has three children, Kim (John) Chowning of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Judi (Dan) Sherman and Scott (Andrea) McDole, both of Tiffin, and 10 grandchildren.
