Sillar H. Montgomery, 91, of Tiffin, died at 5:04 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
Sillar was born June 2, 1921, in Whitesburg, Ky., to the late Irvin and Edna (Adams) Hall. She first married Ivan B. Hatton and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1966, and she later married Orbin Montgomery in Waverly, on Feb. 12, 1972, and he survives in Tiffin.
Sillar is survived by her son, Sonny Hatton of Tiffin; a daughter, Billie R. Rowe of Delaware; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray Hall, and sister, Julia Lawson, both of Tiffin.
Sillar was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; a son, James Hatton; a daughter, Ann Tackett; two grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Jr., Donald, Lenville and Dewy Hall; two sisters, Alpha Hatton and Josephine Pennington Maksemetz.
Sillar retired from General Electric as a press operator and was a member of the Eighth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Sillar will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin with the Rev. Harry Mead officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be 36 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services Wednesday, at Seneca Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice.
