Colleen M. Sheeley, age 94, of Upper Sandusky, died on Saturday Nov. 10, 2012, at 3:55 p.m. in the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1918, in Upper Sandusky to William Edward Sr. and Mary A. (O'Donnell) Bauer. She married John N. Sheeley on July 18, 1943, in St. Peter Church, Upper Sandusky, and he survives in Upper Sandusky.
Mrs. Sheeley is survived by a son William J. (Jane) Sheeley, Tiffin, and two grandchildren, Lori and Crissy Sheeley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lawrence E. Sheeley; three brothers, William, Robert and Dr. Donald Bauer; and a stepsister ,Mary Otterback.
Mrs. Sheeley graduated from Upper Sandusky High School class of 1936. She had been a clerk at Koehler Drug Store and had worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. Mrs. Sheeley had also worked for Lees Trading Post and had been an aide at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of St. Peter Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church. Mrs. Sheeley believed strongly in her faith and was proud of her Irish heritage. She was a charter member in 1938 of Alpha Tri Sigma Sorority. For hobbies, she enjoyed flowers, playing the piano and organ, golfing, eating at Stone Crossing Golf Club and playing cards in local bridge clubs.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
