Cutathon raises $1,600

November 10, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

The second annual Gayla Griffin Breast Cancer Cutathon to benefit Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment was another great success.

We would like to thank Tiffin and Seneca County for coming out and supporting us Oct. 2 at the host salon, Salon Source 2000. Donations began at the end of September from the salon's beautiful clients as well as by mail. These monetary donations kept coming through the first days of November. In all, this community joined to raise almost $1,600.

Many people gave their time and contributed to that day's success. Thank you to stylists Erica Meier, Jodi Hade, Sue Reidy and Oak Harbor's Amy Heggie for taking time out of their busy schedules to give great haircuts, as well as Terri Hampshire and Tiffin Academy student Beth Strobel for shampooing patrons. Thank you to Carol Theis for exhausting herself doing wonderful chair massages. Thank you to Sharon, Amanda and Addi Lutz for coming in to help. Thank you to Bill Reineke and Reineke Ford for donating the Ford Cares Warriors in Pink scarves. Thank you to our friend Lisa Lorgan at The Rocket Shop in Oak Harbor for doing the T-shirts in such a timely manner. Thanks for all your help, Audrey Heslet and Cindy Walter, at Tiell Financial Group, Bascom. A big thank you to MaryAnn Kromer for such nice coverage in The A-T.

On behalf of her family and in loving memory of Gayla Griffin, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Sincerely,

Lisa (Mike) McClellan and Rachelle Griffin, sisters; Erin (C.J.) Kisabeth and Abrie Smith, daughters; McKenna Gaietto and Claire McClellan, nieces; and Wayne and Sandy Griffin, parents
