Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Board announced updates on students Jarrod Nichols and Tina Costantini who are competing for World Skills
USA in Brazil during its meeting Thursday.

During his report, Treasurer Alan Binger noted interest rates on investments continued to decline.
Superintendent Greg Edinger said an updated five-year goals plan is to be presented at the next meeting. One of the new goals includes increasing the retention rate of juniors to seniors.
In other matters, the board approved employment contracts to Marilyn Felker and Debra Schroeder as substitute instructors; Michael Boehler, Emma Riley and Thomas Reis as custodial staff; hired Linda Krizan as custodian; and approved an unpaid leave of absence for Judy Mileto.
The next regular meeting is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the administration center, Fremont.
