Dear friends of Seneca County,
The United Way campaign is a vital resource for many of our area charity organizations. As a board member of Community Hospice Care, I am keenly aware of the financial strain that is the daily concern of its dedicated staff. Each month, as I hear the financial report, I continue to marvel at how expenses have been kept tightly under control without reducing the fine quality of ministry that goes on. Nevertheless, once expenses have been reduced as far as possible, given the ongoing cuts in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, there is nowhere else to turn except to the citizens of this community for help in supporting this valuable service to those among us in the last months of life.
Please be as generous as you can in this annual campaign. Your dollars will be spent with utmost frugality and common sense.
