GREEN SPRINGS - The village of Green Springs Council meeting was called to order Monday night by Mayor Jesse Darr, reporting that he and council put up the Christmas decorations for the village this year (along with assistance from a rented bucket truck).
In his report, Darr said the village financials are "in the black" but "by no means out of the woods."
In old business, Jared Tree Service has been officially hired for tree trimming. Miller Cable is to install a time clock for the school zone flasher, with partial payment to come from the schools.
Purchase of the electronic sign for the corner of Broadway and Adams, with an estimate of $10,000-$12,000, has been tabled.
In new business:
Billie Smith has been appointed to the zoning board.
Council accepted September financial reports as well as employee payroll information.
Council is to meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 3.
