BASCOM - Hopewell-Loudon held Vanlue to just 21 points in four quarters and had multiple double digit efforts in a 56-21 thrashing of Vanlue.
Cassandra Hohman (14) and Danielle Rohrbach (12) each netted double digits while Rohrbach grabbed eight rebounds.
Lauren Trumpler added nine points and Courtney Burns had eight.
The Chieftains are now 1-1 overall.
Tornadoes rally back from double-digit deficit
FREMONT - The halftime deficit was 12 points. It wasn't enough.
Columbian surged past Fremont Ross 15-4 in the third quarter and used a 7-6 margin in the fourth to force the first of two overtimes Tuesday en route to a 51-49 victory.
"It was awesome to see the kids fight 'til the end and gut out a victory," TC coach Katie Fazekas said.
Jocelyn Cole sparked the Tornadoes (2-1) by going 5 of 12 on 3-pointers on her way to 18 points.
Michaela Miller chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds, Valesha Province added seven boards and nine assists, Megan Moore tallied seven rebounds and three steals and Payge Smith snared three steals.
Abbi Hasselbach and Kiera Hall both scored 10 points for the Little Giants, who suffered through a 19-of-49 effort from the field and a 4-of-21 showing on 3-pointers.
Shaina Kiser hauled in 13 rebounds, Hall had six boards and Ariana Spencer registered eight points and three steals.
Blue Jackets turn away Woodmore
ELMORE - New Riegel bunched its scoring and nearly got a double-double from Taylor Arbogast in Tuesday's 48-40 triumph over Woodmore.
Arbogast tallied nine points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists for New Riegel (2-0).
Taylor Kirian added 15 points for New Riegel and Kara Scherger and Lauren Ladd each popped in 12.
Abby Cassidy handed out three assists.
Grace Weirich's 14 points and Allie Wank's 10 paced the Wildcats (2-1). Katy Avers hauled in nine boards.
Buckeye Central loses first game of the season
GALION - Buckeye Central had seven players score but a second quarter surge from Northmor put it ahead for good, winning 38-33.
Brooke Karl's 12 points paced the Buckettes (0-1) while Emily Weithman's eight backed her.
Buckeye Central out-rebounded Northmor 26-21 but sank only three foul shots compared to Northmor's 12.
Rams roll early
FOSTORIA - Upper Sandusky dominated early and had three players combine for 40 points Tuesday as the Rams doubled up Fostoria 66-33.
Taylor Graboski scored 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished seven assists for the Rams, who led 40-15 at halftime.
Jorden Born netted 12 points and Alex Cameron chipped in 10.
The Redmen (0-1) got 14 points from Erica Moore and 11 from Jada Hampton, but went just 1 for 12 from the line.
Mohawk almost doubles up on Bucyrus
SYCAMORE - Julie Adelsperger piled in 18 points including a 4-5 showing from the 3-point line to help Mohawk dominate Bucyrus, 51-27.
Teammate and twin sister Kasey Adelsperger added seven points while Sarah Parker and Taylor McClain each had six points.
Lynsey Trusty chipped in five assists and four steals.
Blue Devils dominate second half
CAREY - Carey went into the locker room at halftime leading Colonel Crawford 26-24 but a 20-point third quarter sparked a dominant second half as the Blue Devils picked up a 61-47 win.
Hannah was a known name for the Blue Devils as Hannah Draper registered 15 points and five assists while teammate Hannah Tong added 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Sydney Wentling also pitched in 15 points and five assists.
The win boosts Carey to 2-0.
