Megan Kathleen Bish-Ritter

Megan Kathleen Bish-Ritter, 30, of Chatfield and Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 21, 2012, as the result of an auto accident in Kremmling, Colo.

She was born March 19, 1982, in Tiffin, to Gregg and Elaine (Starr) Bish.

Survivors include her mother, Elaine (Jim) Houck, formerly of Tiffin and presently of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; father, Gregg W. (Gretchen) Bish, formerly of Tiffin and presently of Fremont, Mich.; grandmother, Mabel Starr of Tiffin; three brothers, Brandon G. Bish of Lawrenceville, Ga., Specialist Ryan A. Bish, 101st Airborn of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Sean C. Bish of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; four half brothers and sisters, Christian, John and Connor Bish, all of Fremont, Mich., and Stephanie Shiffer of Columbus; a stepsister, Aspen Houck of Bradenton, Fla.; a stepbrother, Mike Ward of New Riegel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merle Starr and Kenneth and Kathleen Bish, all of Tiffin.

Megan graduated from Mohawk High School in 2000 where she was a member of the Honor Society and from Southern Ohio College of Nursing, Findlay, where she graduated class valedictorian and became an LPN. While in high school, she was the wrestling statistician, played softball for four years and was also involved in theater productions and dance.

She was planning to move to the Denver area to be with friends and family. She enjoyed beading, jewelry making, art and drawing. She loved taking care of her pets and critters, many of them rescued animals. Megan had a passion for the outdoors; loved fishing, swimming, gardening, outdoor music concerts, campfires and evening sunsets.

Megan was a very compassionate people person. She helped care for elderly neighbors, her grandmother, worked in a local nursing home, helped deliver babies for friends and family and was furthering her education in EMS training.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. There will be no burial at this time. Megan's celebration of life gathering will follow the Mass in the recreation room at St. Mary.

Friends may celebrate and share stories of Megan's life with the family from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County EMS, 100 Hopewell Ave., Tiffin, OH 44883, Wyandot County EMS, 10 Court St., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351 or Crawford County EMS, P.O. Box 126, Bucyrus, OH 44820. These agencies helped Megan many times over the years.
