Producers enrolled in the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program are reminded of the requirements to complete program activity for the crop year.
The NAP program provides financial assistance to producers who suffered a loss on crops caused by a weather-related disaster. Some crops that qualify for NAP include hay, pumpkins, squash, orchard crops and a variety of other specialty crops. Producers must have purchased NAP to be eligible for benefits.
Producers who filed a notice of loss are required to submit production evidence to the Seneca County Farm Service Agency immediately upon completion of harvest and sign a form. Submitting evidence allows FSA to process the application and determine if a NAP payment is due. Production evidence must be properly documented and be considered verifiable or reliable to be accepted.
Producers who did not file a notice of loss on NAP crops still are required to report the production of these crops to FSA. Deadline is July 15, but producers are encouraged to report this production as soon as it is available.
