Seneca County

Seneca County Park District invites all ages to a Nature Walk Bird Talk at 8 a.m. Dec. 8 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, SR 19 south of Bloomville.

The walk is to last about 1 1/2 hours and qualifies for the walking stick program. See what might be lurking in the woods, grasslands or wetlands. Binoculars and field guides are helpful.

Toddlers ages 12-36 months with an adult companion can try pinecone painting for the holiday season at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 at Garlo preserve.

Dress to get messy.

Preschool Pals ages 3-5 with an adult companion can make holiday ornaments from natural materials at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at Garlo preserve.

Sandusky County

Those age 7 and older can make natural Christmas decorations during "A Natural Christmas" program at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at White Star Park log cabin, 5013 CR 65, Gibsonburg.

Supplies are provided. Fee is $5, payable on site.

Hancock County

Celebrate the season and discover animals that live in the pines during winter during the monthly Discovery Stories at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday.

Programs are designed for preschool children ages 3 to 6 with an adult companion, but other-age siblings also are welcome.

Programs take place at the "Doc" Phillips Discovery Center in Oakwoods Nature Preserve and include a story, craft and other nature activities.

Oakwoods preserve is at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, Findlay.
