ATTICA - Seneca East started its season with a flourish Friday.
The Tigers leaped out 31-12 by halftime and got 14 points each from two players in a 61-40 Midland Athletic League win over Fremont St. Joe.
Ashton Daniel and Hannah Hahler both netted 14 points for Seneca East, and Jessica Enders added eight.
Be Reardon's 21 points and six rebounds sparked the Crimson Streaks (0-3, 0-1 MAL). Jensen LeJeune scored 10 points.
Chieftains drops St. Wendelin
FOSTORIA - Cassandra Hohman and Danielle Rohrbach each had big double-doubles Friday to fuel Hopewell-Loudon's 66-56 Midland Athletic League win over St. Wendelin.
Hohman popped in 22 points and Rohrbach netted 21, with both grabbing 11 rebounds for the Chieftains (2-1, 1-0 MAL).
Lauren Trumpler (9) and Courtney Burns (8) combined for 17 points, and Aleta Daniel tossed out four assists.
Colleen Fondessy's 23 points for the Mohawks (1-2, 0-1) led everyone. She also snared three steals. Heather Saalman added 12 points and Kamryn Troike hauled in 12 boards.
Royals roll in second quarter
FOSTORIA - Elmwood broke free in the second quarter Friday on the way to beating Northern Buckeye Conference foe Fostoria 62-43.
The Royals (2-0, 1-0 NBC) held a slim 15-12 lead after the first period, but raced past the Redmen 23-5 in the second to gain control. The teams matched each others point totals from there.
Brittany Gross scored 20 points for Elmwood and Kristen Curtis, Courtney Emmitt and Brittany George each netted eight.
Jada Hampton tossed in 18 points for FHS (0-2, 0-1) and Erica Moore had 11.
Tigers flatten Old Fort
NORTH BALTIMORE - Megan Wright scored 10 of her game-high 18 points in the first quarter Friday to key North Baltimore's 65-23 Midland Athletic League win over Old Fort.
Ricci Emahiser chipped in 14 points for the Tigers, who led 33-9 at halftime.
Sammy Miller's eight points paced the Stockaders.
Sam Hartsel and Michaela Davidson both hauled in nine rebounds.
