Shawn David Orians, 46, of Carey, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer, lovingly supported by his immediate family.
Shawn was born May 1, 1966, in Findlay, son of the late Lorinda "Ren" Orians. He was raised and is survived by his parents of 38 years, Coy and Doneta "Toots" (Orians) Druckemiller of Carey.
He married Michelle Rothlisberger Feb. 5, 2010, and she survives in Carey.
Also surviving are two children, Brittany (Jason) Winters of Columbus and Zachary Orians of Vanlue; two grandchildren, Kail and Jack Winters; two stepsons, Austin and Seth Rehus; a stepdaughter, Chelsie Rehus; three sisters, Brandi (Billy) Conley and Charity (Daniel) Cole, both of Carey, and Andrea (Jeff) Good of Kenton; a brother, Benji Nichols of Tiffin; 10 nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles.
A 1985 graduate of Carey High School, he worked in the construction industry after high school, most recently as a foreman at CSI Construction Services, rural Wharton.
Shawn enjoyed sports, especially basketball and football. He also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson with his wife, Michelle. He derived great pleasure teasing and playing pranks on family and friends. You knew you were liked by Shawn if he teased you. People who truly knew Shawn will smile when they think of him.
A gathering of friends and family will be 2-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
A celebration of Shawn's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, with the Rev. Penny Magee officiating.
