Martin L. Coffman Sr., 80, of Bloomville, passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2012, at his home.
He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Tiffin, to John and Melva (Feasel) Coffman. He married Nancy Ranker Aug. 27, 1953, in Covington, Ky., and she survives in Bloomville.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Coffman of Bloomville and Martin (Janet Agerter) Coffman Jr. of Tiffin; three daughters, Vicki (Paul) Holley, Pam Sheward and Tammy (Dave) Hushour, all of Bloomville; eight grandchildren, Holly Holmer, Eric Coffman, Brian Jenkins, Brandy Bogner, Heather Siebenaller, Chelsea Hushour, Brittany Sheward and Chase Hushour; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody Cook, Dylan Bogner, Blake and Bailey Holmer, Carter and Carley Coffman, Addison and Emery Siebenaller, Brynlyn Griffith and Jaxson Kommick; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Coffman and former son-in-law, Paul Sheward, both of Bloomville; four brothers, Willard (Alice) Coffman and James (Carol) Coffman, both of Tiffin, William Coffman of Bloomville and John (Virginia) Coffman of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Dick and George Coffman; two sisters, Emma Scott and Alice Shaul; and a great-grandson, Brady M. Holmer.
Mr. Coffman worked at Basic Refectories, Bettsville, for many years, retiring in 1986, and he was the former street superintendent for the village of Bloomville.
He enjoyed playing golf and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports.
His memorial service is 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic.
Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
