Bloomville/Republic cop contract on table

BLOOMVILLE - Bloomville Police Chief Howard Minzer presented an offer to council from the village of Republic to reaffirm a mutual aid agreement during a meeting Wednesday evening.

The five-year agreement, which would allow one village to provide police assistance to the other in times of emergency, was engineered by Republic Village Solicitor James Gucker. Bloomville Solicitor Tim Hoover is to review the drafted agreement and offer comments at the next council meeting.

Street superintendent Rick Dentinger reported the John Deere mower is in need of repair. Other needed repairs include the diving board at the village pool, replacement of a utility pole and various pole-mounted receptacles.

The senior center is now open 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays. The center offers cards, puzzles and conversation for people 60 years of age and older.

In other news:

Santa Claus is to visit Memorial Public Library 1-3 p.m. Dec. 15.

Blood pressure screenings 11 a.m. Tuesday at Community Center.

Offers are being accepted for a 1998 utility vehicle.

Pay ordinance passed.

The next council meeting is 7 a.m. Dec. 19 at the village office.
